The Iyengar Yoga Association of Southern California Region, Inc. (IYACSR) Board of Directors has a variety of aims. The Board serves to spread the teaching of Yogacharya Sri B.K.S. Iyengar and to maintain the teaching standard set by him. It also serves to advance public education in the classical teaching of the science of Yoga. Another objective is to arrange and provide for the holding of Yoga demonstrations, meetings, lectures and classes. The Board promotes and advances the study and practice of, and research into, the therapeutic effects of Iyengar Yoga as a means of improving the mental, physical, and spiritual health of the community. Publication of useful results of any such research is also supported by IYACSR. Finally, IYACSR encourages communication, harmony and unity among Iyengar Yoga practitioners in the San Diego region and in other parts of the world. IYACSR offers scholarships to its membership. Limited funds will be available each calendar year for use by IYACSR membership. The scholarship can be used to supplement a variety of activities as long as they are deemed to be congruent with the aims cited above. Applicants must:
